30 Weeks

How's Mom Feeling?

This week has been a busy week! Busy - in a good way! I've felt fine all week! Just haven't been sleeping well through the night! :( I know people tell me I need to take advantage of the sleep now but it's kind of hard when I keep waking up every two hours!

Monday we had our first Lamaze class! :)
(we look tired huh?)
There are 4 more classes and it goes from 7PM to 9:30PM. I know! It's kind of late huh?! Since Zach and I both work during the day, this was our only best option! Lamaze class went very well! I am excited to go again on Monday! I've always wanted to take a child birth class! I always see couples do it in the movies all the time and I think it's so cute! Not only do I want to prepare myself for labor but I also want to be able to look back at this moment that Zach and I got to share together! We met a lot of great couples! It was nice being able to relate to all the pregnant mamas who are going through the same thing I'm going through (like this summer pregnancy)!
We did some breathing techniques and I couldn't keep a straight face because of Zach! I blame him for looking ridiculous! Haha but I am glad we got some laughs out of it!

Tuesday we got new carpet!

It makes our house look so much different! I love it! We are finally glad to get rid of our old one! The reason we got new carpet was because we've been infested with carpet bug!  Don't know what carpet bug is?? Google it! haha it's pretty gross I know! The previous owners had dogs and carpet was 10 years old! So now with the new carpet, we feel so much at ease knowing that baby isn't going to be crawling around putting carpet bug in his mouth!

Wednesday we went over to our friends Mike & Elisha's for BBQ!
It was a lot of fun! It was nice just to hang out, eat, and play games!

Thursday I pampered myself with a manicure/pedicure! I think being pregnant is a great excuse to go get a pedicure because your big belly gets in the way when you try to do your own toes!

Friday we went to Tyler's birthday party! It was great to see family and hold baby Nash! He was such a good baby! It was fun to practice feeding and holding him!

Afterwards we went to Kaei and Jessica's engagement party! I am very excited for them! I also got 6 mosquito bites from that night! I am so itchy right now!!

Saturday morning Zach and I slept in and cuddled together! It was so relaxing because we didn't have anything planned or had anywhere to be that morning. I remember thinking as I was laying there how quiet the house was and how in two months from now that will all change! So I am trying to cherish my time alone with Zach because it won't be just the two of us for long!
So I suggested we go out for dim sum because we've never been just the two of us!

Later that night we went to another birthday party. It was my aunt's son who just turned 1 years old. He is a cutie!

Then we had college & career bible study at Travis's house! We had hot dogs, smore's and watermelon! It was a fun night of fellowship and sitting around the fire pit!

The end. See told you it was a busy week! I enjoyed every minute of it though! :)
I can't believe in two months I get to meet my baby boy!! So excited!!

Baby is the size of a cucumber!

  • His skin is getting smoother.
  • But his brain is getting wrinklier -- to make way for all that essential brain tissue.
  • He's now strong enough to grasp a finger!

29 Weeks

How's Mom Feeling?

This week wasn't too bad, on Monday, I started feeling crampy and tired.  I felt bad I didn't make it to girl's night because I wasn't feeling too well. As the week went by, I started feeling a little bit better! It's crazy how one day I have all this energy and the next I am exhausted!

I've also been assigned to do this big project at work which will require a lot of my time and energy.  So I am praying and hoping I can do it.  I'm also hoping this project will make this pregnancy fly by. I really need to keep myself busy because lately I've been stressing over the arrival of baby and how I don't feel ready yet. We just have so much to do before little one comes!

Sleeping at night has started to become uncomfortable. I feel so bad for poor Zach because I have pillows surrounding me and he can't even cuddle with me! haha

I also felt baby hiccup a lot this week! It's really cute, I love it. Haha

Baby is the size of an acorn squash!

Baby already measures about 15.2 to 16.7 inches long. Right now, we weighs about 2.5 to 3.8 pounds but he's still got a ways to go -- can you believe he'll triple in weight before birth?

Your baby at 29 weeks

  • He's getting a little cramped in there, since he's growing so fast. But you probably already realize that, since you're getting all those jabs and kicks.
  • He's growing white fat deposits under his skin, and his energy is surging because of it.
  • Feel a subtle twitch? It might be baby hiccupping.

Best Memory this Week?

The best memory this week was our ultrasound appointment at IMC! It went very well! Baby is measuring right on and he is healthy and perfect! He had normal amount of fluid surrounding him. It was actually a really long appointment because we had a medical student that was there learning and observing. So we had extra time to see our baby which I did not mind at all! :)

The cool part was getting a 3D picture of our baby which we were not expecting at all!

Little guy would not move his hand! He is a shy little one! I love him so much! :)

Zach and I left the ultrasound smiling and extremely happy because we got to see his little face. We are both are so excited to take care and love our baby boy!

We signed up for a Lamaze class which are on Mondays! We can't wait to start! I think taking this birthing class will help me be more prepared and ready for labor! :)

28 Weeks - 7 Months!

July 7, 2013

How's Mom Feeling?

This week I'm doing pretty good! It's crazy to think I'm already starting the 3rd trimester! :) Wow, this pregnancy is going faster than I thought it would! This week I've experienced some Braxton hicks contractions! It was painless but not comfortable! I've also noticed I'm not really having a huge appetite lately.  Probably due to baby crowding inside me!

I'm starting to get a little nervous because I've been reading a lot about how babies can survive outside of the womb around this time! And since this is my first pregnancy I don't really know what to expect! When I was a baby I was born premature and spent 3 months in the hospital! God forbid I don't want that to happen to my own baby! I just want him to be born healthy! A co-worker of mine made a comment to me this week. She said, "I'd be surprised if you make it to 9 months!" That comment irritated me a little bit but I can understand why she would say that because I do look like I'm further along than I should be. My belly button (turkey timer) is already poking out! Haha I probably look like I'm further along because I do have a petite body and I'm short!

Overall, this week was a good one. I wasn't too emotional or anything. Just been super happy about having little Ayden sleeping and moving inside me! :)
Baby is the size of an eggplant!

Baby at 28 weeks
  • He's starting to develop more fat, so his wrinkly skin will start to get smoother.
  • His lungs are mature enough that he'd probably survive if he was born now. Wow!

Best Memory this Week?

The best memory this week was my baby appointment on Friday! This was also the day I had to take my Glucose screening test! I was told I didn't have to fast just not to eat a whole lot. So that was good! The drink they gave me wasn't bad! While I was drinking the juice, I overheard a lady telling her husband "that drink is nasty."  I honestly didn't think it was! haha It was actually nice and cold! So I drank the whole bottle and had to wait an hour. During that hour I had my baby appointment. It went very well we heard his strong heartbeat which was 150! The other concern my midwife had was that I was measuring 33cm. AGAIN I'm measuring larger than I should be! So she scheduled the next available u/s appointment for me to see how his growth is and she thinks there may be extra fluid surrounding him. The downside of this is now I'm a worry wart! I'm sure it's nothing but since it is my first pregnancy I am a little nervous!! The upside is I get to see my baby boy again! :) Well, hopefully its still a boy! haha jk prety sure it's a he. So after my appointment I went to the lab to get my blood drawn. The phlebotomist poked me twice! She couldn't get it in my left arm so she had to poke my right arm. So I left there with both arms poked and bruised!

After our baby appointment, we had dinner with Zach's mom and Kurt! We had Pho! yummmm :)

27 Weeks

How's Mom Feeling?

This week has been a great week yet an emotional one too! I had a great week because we had our first baby shower with our Church family! I had a lot of fun and I was so happy to see so many people! :)
Lately I've been so emotional! I believe it's the pregnancy hormones that are making me crazy! haha I feel so sorry for Zach because he doesn't know what to do when I start crying out of nowhere! haha He has put up with a lot! I love him! :)

And I am so ready for the heat of summer to be over with! But at the same time I don't want summer to end because I hate the winter and snow!! But I do love spring and fall which only happens for a short amount of time here in Utah!

So...since our baby shower was a gender reveal shower I can now announce to everyone that we are having a BABY BOY!!!!!

We are very very happy that we are having a boy!! Even though I guessed wrong, I am looking forward to having a cute mini Zachary running around :)

Baby is the size of a Rutabaga!

Your baby at 27 weeks

  • He's practicing inhaling and exhaling with his rapidly developing lungs.
  • It's official: Baby's showing brain activity! And his brain will keep on getting more complex.

Best Memory this Week?

The best memory this week was probably the baby shower!! I have the best church family ever and I am so grateful for all the gifts and wishes! Here are some pictures:

Just want to say THANK YOU to those who made time to come out to my baby shower! It meant the world to me! Thanks to you, baby's closet isn't empty anymore! :)
